• After doing wp-config.php then proceeding to the /wp-admin/install.php part of the installation i get the 500 internal Server Error. Why? I’ve noticed every single file for the wordpress i get the 500 internal Server error.

    What can i do to fix it?

  • It’s possible you will need to check with your host about this.

    Could need to ‘enable CGI’ in your hosting control panel.

    Thanks.

    My CGI is enabled.
    My hoster fits all the Req. for hosting the wordpress as well.

    My hoster is t35.com, maybe in the wp-config.php file for the code

    define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘localhost’);

    that “localhost” isn’t correct.

    Could that have caused a 500 internal server error?

    I wouldn’t think that would cause the error–that would normally cause a database connection error.

    Guess you could need to allocate for memory to PHP.

    This might be worth a call to your host.

    What is exactly “allocate for memory to php”?

    Methods for increasing the amount of memory a PHP script may consume

    1. If you have access to your PHP.ini file, change the line in PHP.ini
    If your line shows 8M try 16M:
    memory_limit = 16M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (16MB)

    2. If you don’t have access to PHP.ini try adding this to an .htaccess file:
    php_value memory_limit 16M

    3. Talk to your host

    Ok thanks. I’ve sent a message to my hoster. Lets see if it fixes it now. =)

    memory_limit is currently 32mb.
    So ya… What other problems could cause this 500 internal server error….

    Might check your log files for any hints.
