• Would be nice to see search progress indication just to know the plugin is still doing something on long queries i.e. file paths and names even if they do flash by the screen quickly we can see activity and know where within the folder/file structure the scan is at and if it encounters an problem we have an idea where it last left off.

Also, for large folders where a scan might take a long time or even time out, being able to pause/resume would be extremely helpful, especially in the case of a theme or plugin folder that always times out because it is too big and there is no way to selectively choose portions within that folder for smaller controlled scans.

    Hi,

I did originally have a scan status that updated in real time, the problem is that there’s no reliable way to get the real time status without sending a large amount of requests back and forth, this slows down the search process hundredfold (a 30 second search could in some cases take 20 minutes), so it was removed.

Now, it -does- still do statuses, but not as often (the status updates are based on your server settings, the more I’m allowed to do in one process the fewer status updates). I could introduce an artificial shortening of this limit to allow for more frequent status updates, but I’ll have to do some playing around to find a good approach to this that doesn’t negatively impact performance or experience.

Now, pause/resume features are definitely a good idea, and will definitely be implemented.

    Thank you for the feedback!
