Choosing multiple options for “default activity filter”

  • Hi,

    I would like to be able to choose more than one option in the section “default activity filter.” I may not be using the plugin correctly but from what I can tell I can choose only one option. This really limits the usefulness of the plugin if you want to hide only 1 or 2 types of activity – say changing a profile photo or new friends. Since I can only choose 1 option, I have no choice but to show everything.

    Is there any way to choose multiple options?

    Thanks for posting, Actually we are using the “Default Activity Filter” option to select a single select dropdown option given by the BuddyPress (see the attached image). Since this dropdown is not a multiselect dropdown and we are not going to modify the BuddyPress but only adding our functionality. However for your requirement we have given second option on the same admin page with paragraph text “Hide Activity Filter(s)
    Select activity/activities you want to hide from dropdown list on activity front page.”
    And a set of checkboxes are given for all types of available activities, from this section you can check corresponding checkboxes to hide as many activities as you wish.

    Hi,

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    So what it seems like I need is to have the drop-down list turned into a multi-select item? Any suggestions for that?

    I don’t think using the “Hide Activity Filters” won’t do what I’m asking for. I want to show only some types of activity on the activity stream. From what I understand, if I select a type of activity to be hidden from the drop down list of “Hide Activity Filters” then that type of activity will still be there in the stream, but users will just not be able to show only that type of activity in the stream.

    Hi,
    Okay if your requirement is not fulfilled and you want to show selected activities then you could hire some developer to alter the default functionality of our plugin. Your need is beyond our plugin scope. We may do this in our later versions.
