Overriding MEC Monthly Skin Templates

Hi, I’ve successfully overridden a few skins in my webnus child theme folder however I’ve struggling to do this with the ‘calendar_clean’ skin. I’ve moved a copy of this, tpl.php and the render.php from the monthly_view skin folder. It appears to be reading render.php but using the calendar_clean.php file from the plugin folder rather than my child theme version. Could you point me in the right direction. Thanks
