file attachment via form and email: is it secure?

    Hi
    Firstly, EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY, thank you.
    Secondly, I’m wondering about the security of (personal) documents attached via form and attached via the email created by Contact Form 7 (indeed any form that uses this process).
    Does one require SSL?
    Does this make any difference to the email sent with attachment? (e.g., it’s secure up until it travels via email server)
    ?
    Would love to understand this if you can advise please?

    If your question is whether you should use HTTPS, yes, you should always use it if possible.

    Yes, that is my question.
    AND
    once the email/attachment is sent I assume one is reliant upon the Secure SSL/TLS Settings of the mail server/client
