    Very sorry for the delay.

    Regarding 1 and 2:
Are you using sub-headings (sub-categories) for your categories (like Example 1, Products 1 and 2)? Or do you want to show the docs without sub-headings, like Products 3 and 4 (see link)?

    Regarding 3:
Sorry, this was not documented. If you add widgets to the Docs Widget Area, then you have to manually add the Table of Contents. To do this, add the widget named “Organized Docs Section Contents” which is the Table of Contents widget.

Hi – thanks for posting a reply, I was hoping and waiting…

Regarding 1 and 2: … “yes” ha ha, interested in either way of presenting the docs. Not sure if possible to have it different ways in different sets of docs or not – but would like to know how to do different setups – can’t seem to figure out how to change display in sidebar

Regarding 3: thanks, didn’t spot that.

    appreciate the plugin and support

Okay. Yes, you can have it different ways in different sets of docs.

    1. Your main Docs page at “mysite.com/docs/” will only show the names of your top-level categories, that would be the products that have docs. It doesn’t list the actual Documents. My main Docs page doesn’t show the Documents either; it only shows the top-level categories (see https://isabelcastillo.com/docs/).
    2. The reason that I asked if you are using sub-headings is because the sidebar will appear differently depending on whether you’re using sub-headings or not.

Sub-headings are simply child-categories. This is created like regular category, except that you assign a parent category to it, so it becomes a child category.

It’s okay for some of your Docs categories to have sub-headings (child-categories), and some of your Docs categories to have NO sub-headings.

So what I’m actually asking is, did you assign a regular (top-level) category to your Document, or did you assign a child-category?

Now, when you are looking at a document that has a category without child-categories, you will only see the Table Of Contents for that category (this sounds like what you’re describing on your page).

On the other hand, when you are looking at a document that has a category which is a child category, the Table Of Contents will list sections for all of the related child categories. So, if you did assign a child-category to your Document, but you still don’t see other categories in your Table Of Contents sidebar, it is because there are no other related child categories. Related child-categories would be categories that have the same parent category.

I know this may sound very confusing. Let me know what needs clarification and I’ll be happy to try and explain. Thanks for your patience.
