Problem with uploading images message= “The uploaded file could not be moved to”

  • Hi,

    I’m relatively new to WP, I’ve been using it exactly the same way for 3 months and today I’ve received this error when trying to upload images via the media toolbar button: The uploaded file could not be moved to…

    I have not changed anything other than I’ve tried to write a new post. Can anyone offer some assistance?

    Since you are sure you didn’t change anything in your WordPress installation, ask you webhosting service whether they changed anything with their servers. Sometimes, with webhost’s upgrades, permissions have to be changed with your upload folder. If you are using pretty permalinks with /year/month/etc., you might have to CHMOD the /2008/10 folder from 755 to 777
