Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.

I keep receiving this message and I’ve tried several times following all of the directions I can find on the net to a tee. My website is hosted at godaddy and I’ve noticed that MySQL database name is the same as my username, does this effect anything?

Does anyone have any specific experience with trying to add a wordpress blog to an already established website using godaddy.com for hosting?

    PLEASE HELP!

  • Are you on a Win server? Move to a *nix – it will not work on Win at godaddy.

win server? what does that mean? how do i found out what server i’m on? what is a *nix?

OK. You have the option to be hosted on a Windows server or on a Linux server.

There were post around here describing exactly what you have to do to switch.

    thanks moshu!

    Hello sequoiaredd,

I’m getting the same “Page Error” when I try to go to mysite.com/wp-admin/ – you said that it was fixed, what did you do? By the way, I’m on GoDaddy and running on Linux…

I had accidentally left a php.ini file in my wwwroot. After removing the file, I got rid of this error. My wordpress is in Windows 2003 dedicated hosting.
