• First, appreciate your efforts.

    IMO this needs two things and it becomes great:

    1) A button to insert shortcode when in the TEXT editor mode. Not everyone uses the visual editor. *** Note how Shortcake works – and in fact, why not leverage that interface, since it seems likely to become core?

    2) An option for a select dropdown (in addition to the single-line input offered now). This is really important I think as so many times you need specific parameter input for a shortcode to function properly. Hard to do with simple line input. Doesn’t have to be complicated, could be simply entering list values with defined separator (which then creates select array), and if one needs to go further, offer then ability to apply a select array of their own such as with a function override – i.e. instead of a list: option1 | option2 | option3, enter function name using some distinctive format i.e. ‘funct:my_function_name’ which returns select array. Then more advanced users can write their own functions behind the scenes, while plugin remains easy to maintain.

    Just some thoughts. Would greatly elevate this plugin IMO. Thanks for reading.
