Can’t log in after install

  • I have installed wordpress several times on Linux Fedora Core 2. It appears to install fine. I get the admin password and can pull up the default index.php page, and it even says I am successfully registering a new user, but I can’t log in. I’ve completely un-installed MySQL, PHP and wordpress several times and I get back to the same place every time.
    I extracted the file into \etc\httpd\wordpress. I then copied the file into \var\www\html\wordpress and changed the config file. It appears to work up to the log-in.
    Please help. I want to use this as for my church!!!!

  • Can’t login … do you get a password ?
    Do you just get looped back immediately when entering the password ?
    Which version of wp ?

    I do get the admin password. When I enter it, it just sits there on the wp-login.php page. I’m using wp v1.2

    Tried going to https://www.yourdomain.com/wordpress/index.php ?
    That will either let you in, or throw you at login again, but it may be a clue to what is going wrong.

    I can get to that page fine, but when I try to log in I get hung up on the same wp-login.php page.

    Have you a link ?
    I’ll try and register as a new user ?

    I get a blank screen when I log in.
    I can see /wp-admin/wp-admin.css and /wp-admin/quicktags.js so they work okay, but no .php file responds, yet index.php does in wordpress root.
    Can you delete all the files in /wp-admin/ and re-upload ?

    I did just did it with no difference. Like I said, I’ve completely deleted the thing and re-installed the whole thing multiple times with the same issue.

    Hi this has been posted before but I couldn’t find an aswer.
    I have installed php 4.3.8, mysql 4.o and wordpress 1.2 mingus (I had to install php4.3.0 because the version 5 would not allow me to get pass step 3). The installation finishes I get the admin and the password, but when I tried to log in it doesn’t allow me. I have tried to log in through the index.php page and is the same. If I create a new user is the same story. Could you please help me? I’m trying wordpress out before rolling out in a live server. I’m currently running it in my laptop on localhost.
