Facebook Title showing Author name as Title

Can I clarify: When you share a post now, is it displaying the title or the post author?

If it is currently displaying the title, and you want it to be the post author, you can use this tutorial. This plugin doesn’t directly handle Facebook Meta data, but you should be able to access the guest author name with get_the_author_meta('user_nicename');

If it is currently displaying the author and you want it to display the title, that would be a bug on our part that we need to track down. If so, it would help greatly if you sent us the website in question.

It is displaying the Guest Author name in the Facebook post title instead of the Article Title.

I’d like to to share the Article Title not the guest author.

Still showing Author as the Facebook post Title.

I did just test this myself and it seems to be fixed. Here it is from our demo site: https://www.facebook.com/shooflysolutions/posts/1178512362266935

However, I do believe you. I have seen Facebook do weird things when there is a change like this. It takes a while for the change to take effect.

You can try a couple of things, try saving the post again, clearing your cache and closing your browser before sharing it again and/or wait for a few hours. Try creating another post and sharing it.

The correct version for this fix is version 3.4. Please let me know when/if this is resolved.
