Importing Facebook Events into The Events Calendar

    Hello,
    I’m trying to use the Import Facebook Events plugin to import events into The Event Calendar and am using the Twenty Seventeen theme on the most recent version of WordPress. When I set up the app with a Facebook App ID and secret, and go to import events via the Facebook event URL, nothing seems to happen.

    I’m wondering if I need to use the account that the Facebook page was created from to create the App ID and secret, or if there is something else I’m missing in the set up process for using these apps? I’m also testing these plugins in a local dev environment, using Local by Flywheel, so I’m also curious if this is part of the problem as well. I plan to try the plugin out on a live sit as well, but haven’t done that yet.

    Hello @evanjfarmer,

    Can you please provide more info on which value you are inserting in text-area? our plugin is fetch Facebook events by “Event ID” and “Organization and page username / ID” so if your Facebook event URL is “https://www.facebook.com/events/123456789/” then ID is “123456789”.

    Please try after inserting ID in textarea.

    Currently reviewing the free version of your plugin.

    1. How do I determine the “Event ID” of my FB page? FB is constantly changing and I havent’ found working instructions.

    2. Assume the pro version (not free) only supports “FB Organization or Page” option which I don’t have an issue buying but would like to get the free versoin working first.

    There are 2 import options in plugin.

    1.) by Event ID (which only import 1 particular event).
    EG: for https://www.facebook.com/events/1037677099679152/ (“1037677099679152” is Event ID )

    2.) by organizer ID. ( which will import all upcoming events of Facebook page.)- this option is in paid version.
    EG: for https://www.facebook.com/redbull (“redbull” is organizer ID)

    Ok.

    So do I need to create and enter a FB App Id and FB App Secret (found under the Settings tab) of the plugin BEFORE I can import and event?

    Yes you need to add fb app id and secret key and also even id check how to configure tutorial it’s shown with screenshots.
