Manual Install Query
-
Hi, I have to do a manual install of WordPress for a friend. She already has a site up and running but she doesn’t want to keep it. When I FTP to the server, I see a list of folders, files and shortcuts as follows :
FOLDERS : .cpanel, .cphorde, .htpasswds, .pki, .trash, etc, index, logs, mail, public_ftp, public_html, ssl, tmp
FILES : .bash_logout, .bash_profile, .bashrc, .contactemail, .ftpquota, .lastlogin, .zshrc, cpbackup-exclude.conf
SHORTCUTS : access-logs, www
I don’t know what most of these are. My plan was to delete everything in the public_html folder and install WordPress there, leaving everything else as it is. Is this correct, or can I delete all the other stuff as well?
