• I would like to be able to attach locations to posts (i.e. Europe, New York) and have all the locations listed in the sidebar. I suspect this could be done via custom fields and a widget, but am not sure how to go about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The easiest way without programming would be for you to make your location a category or tag. Then just show those categories or tags in a sidebar widget.

    If possible, I would like to have the location separate from the tags and categories, which are being used for other purposes. Therefore, I am trying to work out how to have location as a custom field, and have that custom field display in each post, and have the list of the various locations in the sidebar. Thanks.

    If you don’t want to use the categories/tags, then sure, you can use custom fields.
