• I have an interesting problem that I just noticed today. After making a modification to the order of my slides (I only moved one slide to the top), I realized that the transitions are not displaying in Internet Explorer. The slides are not fading, they are just cutting over abruptly. I am about 99% certain this was working properly in IE before the change, but I could be wrong on that. Anyhow, it works fine in Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc and when I view the code it is calling for a fade transition. Anyone know what could cause this? Thanks!

  • Hey,

Would it be possible for you to post a link to your site so that I can take a look?

    Thanks,

    Hey Kevin,

I can definitely give you access to the site, but it is currently password protected and the customer hasn’t authorized it to be published yet. I am not seeing an option to send private messages or emails via www.remarpro.com. Would it be possible for you to temporarily add in an email address on your profile and then delete it again after I grab it?

Exchanging login information on this forum is not allowed, so we’ll have to wait until you get the site live so I can see what’s happening.

And even though I know I can be trusted with your information, I highly recommend against sharing site login information with strangers. You never know whose out there and it would be a shame for someone to take advantage of you!

So just let me know when the site is live and I’ll be happy to take a look.

One thing that might be worth trying is simply deleting the slider and rebuilding it. It may be a bit tedious, but perhaps that will fix the issue.

Thanks Kevin, I was only talking about view access to the site, not actual WordPress user credentials. There is a very basic string being used mostly just to block search engines from indexing the site until we go live. Do the same stipulations apply? I’m pretty certain you can be trusted as well, but I would never give out login information for an account with any elevated permissions, no offense!

I believe that the same applies, at least that’s my interpretation of it:

Yeah, I reviewed that again as well prior to posting my last reply. I guess that is where the confusion comes in, as I interpreted it to mean a complete set of credentials (i.e. a wordpress username and password) as opposed to just a text string that must be entered to advance to the page requested, since those are easy to circumvent and are not considered “login information” by any standards I am aware of. But I certainly don’t want to stir up any issues, so I will reach out to one of the mods and see if they can provide a definitive answer on what is and isn’t allowed ??

    Thanks Kevin!

Sounds good! Just let me know and I can give you my email address.

Also, you can always share a video or a screenshot of your issue.

Hi Kevin, the password has been removed from the site and I can post a temporary link now if you have a second to take a look? Thanks!

Thanks Kevin! Still working on the site, but for the time being it can be accessed here.

Everything is working fine in Chrome, Firefox, etc. However for some reason the fade transition is not showing up in IE.

I am not currently able to test in IE, but will be able to tomorrow or this afternoon when I’m around my other computer.

The first thing I would try is simply recreating the slider. Remove the images and add them back in to see if the animation starts working again then.

Thanks Kevin. I had recreated the slider and still the same results. If you can bookmark that site and test it at some point that would be much appreciated!

Here is the link to the site. You will notice it is doing the same thing on the sliders for the portfolio pages as well. I tried recreating them with no luck.

I just took a look, and I believe this is simply a limitation of the browser. Internet Explorer is a very inferior browser, and it lacks features that better browsers offer.

Take a look at the demo site and notice that the transitions don’t work there either:
