• (I am using multi-site version of WP, at the moment for preliminary testing on the localhost.) I want an image from a post page to be visible on the front page too, but with reduced width to 150 px, the height reduced with the same scale. This should not result in two images of the same motive in the post.

The theme has a front page with four columns. An advice on a support page indicated use of a plugin. I tried the “WP Smush” plugin to achieve this task, but it seems it would not be useful.

  • Wordpress usually keeps different sizes of the same image to be used for different purposes. If your original image was large enough to be used in the front page you should be able to locate that version in your media section.

Also: Where exactly do you want to use the image on the front page? Can you provide an url of your site so we can see how your front page looks initially?

I made a site at https://pluss.gdk.mx/mz/ just for this experiment. This is also a multi-site. The images will not appear at all in the front page, but are present in the single articles. I cann’t proceed without managing this challenge.

It is difficult to say without examining the theme your are using but in most themes there are customisation options for the front page that may include settings on how your posts look on the front page. Please start from there to dig into what kind of customisation your theme allows you to do (look specifically for setting about image display).

Are you using your a single page for the front page or have you set it up to show your latest blog posts?

In order to explain the problem and use of options, I had to go systematic through every single meny item and software button. Then I recognized what I had missed! Then the problem is solved! ?? Thank you so much!

“I had to go systematic through every single meny item “ – I’m sure that has been a very valuable experience for you ?? Well-done!..
