• I recently moved over my site from one domain to another. The primary domain used to be https://www.newyorkcitybrewersguild.com. It is now nycbeerweek.com. After resolving some pointing issues with my hosting account, I finally have the site up but when I enter https://www.nycbeerweek.com into the browser, it redirects me to https://nycbeerweek.com/?page_id=58. How do I just get it to load the index page rather than this other page. I already set the Front Page display to a static page and selected the home page, but all that did not seem to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you.

  • Before you do anything else, you should flush your permalinks. That occasionally fixes oddities like this.

Step 1: In the main menu find “Settings > Permalinks”.
Step 2: Scroll down if needed and click “Save Changes”.
Step 3: Rewrite rules and permalinks are flushed.

Thank you, I did that a few times but that didn’t seem to work. Since I’ve made this post though, the page no longer redirects to that odd page, it now goes to another page on my site that is no longer active. I don’t see in any of the settings where to change this though. Thoughts?

    Hi,

I have had the same problem. This morning all the links in my site worked fine. So launched to public and attempted to link it from my FB page. I entered the Home url in to FB learn more button and tried to post on page and it did not work although the exact same link worked from search engine.

This is my first site so excuse my lack of knowledge please.

I researched the problem and found support forums advising the same as above for this problem, made no difference and now has changed all page permalinks to id’s and no internal links now work.

Please help. First day my site out and now doesn’t work, although it did this morning. Sods law!

    Thanks

    Jamie
