Remove search input box from bottom of page?

Is it possible to hide the search input box from the bottom of pages? It shows up (it’s transparent, but it’s there) and pushes my content up. If I click in the white space in that part of the page it brings up the search box. I think this is a weird little bug that should be addressed.
