My site’s homepage says “Under maintenance” but other pages open correctly

  • I recently migrated my web hosting from GoDaddy to Bluehost. I restored the HOME directory using Bluehost’s cPanel “Backup wizard” option. Since then, my website’s landing page throws an “under maintenance” error while other pages on the same site open up perfectly. This is weird. Have I installed WP in the wrong directory?

  • Your picture shows an index.html in addition to the usual index.php. It looks like the index.html is being served. Maybe try removing index.html? Also, clear any caches you may be using.
