WooCommerce on a server cluster – Could there be a session issue?

  • Actually we have WooCommerce active on a own single server and so there is no problems with sessions. But what will happen when we will switch on a server cluster with two or more servers?

    Our provider told us to check if there is a possibility to store sessions in database instead of saving this sessions on filesystem. But our provider just knowing basics about WordPress and WooCommerce and so I have to ask here about this.

    Maybe there is nothing to do because WordPress and WooCommerce is saving customer sessions already in database. Can anyone help me with information about this?

  • Did you ever receive an answer for this?

    From a high level, I’m assuming if your load balancer had sticky sessions it wouldn’t be a problem as you have a common database and with a stick session you would always be hitting the same App server.
