    Hi all,

I need to display the message in three different languages: English, Spanish and Catalan. Which is the correct way to do so? I have tried creating the PO and MO files for each language (from the POT provided), but it doesn’t seem to be working.

I’m using WPML for the webpage translation.

    Thank you in advance,
    Xavi.

  • Hola Xavi:

    Saludos,
    Xavi.

    @datibus,

For other users: I ended up translating the texts using JQuery, since all the cookie plugins that are compatible with WPML require the add-on “String Translation”, which is not included in the most basic package of WPML. If you buy it, you don’t need to use JQuery, but it’s useless to pay for “String Translation” if you only need it in this case.

String Translation allows you to translate texts of your theme and plugins.

    Cheers.

    There are more options @pidekatapp2u

Use Polylang instead of WPML – it’s free and far better than WPML.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to upgrade your WPML to have String Translation tool, you may use cn_cookie_notice_args filter hook that allows you to adjust any Cookie Notice options, including text strings, with a couple of lines of code. The jquery is not the way to go.

Okay @dfactory, I will consider migrating to Polylang if it’s far better that WPML as you say.

    Thanks for the suggestions,
    Xavi.

String Translation did the job in my case.
