• Just learning about using blog. Want to experiment with blog entries that are abbreviated when displayed. I read that this means displaying something like 55 words and then adding a ….more.

    When I set what appears to be the check box to use these abbreviations, nothing changes.

    Is there more to this than just checking a box?

    Also, as cautioned on a number of sites, having a consistent word count can create problems. My preference would be to select how much abbreviated text is use for each post, but still have a way for the user to expand the post.

    I know how I’d do it if I were coding html/css. Is there another approach people use more familiar with blog management?

    Have you tried looking at the <!--more--> functionality within WordPress? Or looked into excerpts?
