ads banner URL target

  • The widget: editorial ads banner needs to a target=”_blank” or “_self” or at least the option. Am I missing something? An ad should not lead a reader away from the site.

    Personally, I agree that the theme needs the option to enable/disable target=”_blank”, especially for externally linked ads, which I’m very much in favor of using target=”_blank”. I would also add rel=”external” for external links.

    It’s better to have the option to enable/disable target=”_blank” because there are website owners who are against the idea of using target=”_blank” to open another window.

    I hope Mystery Themes would implement the option to enable/disable target=”_blank” for the Editorial theme.
