• Hi,

Apologies for posting a repeated question but I had to.

I have a non-profit client and they updated wordpress and virtue theme recently.
They have lost all customization now. Just wanted to know whether there is any possibility to revert back or to fix this?
I know that usually that’s not possible (at least that’s what I got when I searched the web.) but I just wanted to reaffirm. I do not work with my client anymore but since it’s non-profit I know they won’t get much help from anywhere else.

    Thanks

  • Do you have a backup of the site that you can revert to? That would be your best bet to get your information back. If not, perhaps the host has a backup of the site available for you.

Can you post a link? Did you lose your site’s actual settings or the ability to change them?

Also make sure that the Virtue/Pinnacle Toolkit is installed and active on your site.

    Hey,
Contacting your host is another option for getting the site reverted back.

In terms of updating how old was the previous version of the theme? Do you know what version they updated from? Nothing should happen with an update all the data is saved in the database but if they were on a version from 2.5 years ago then that could certainly cause issues.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply Ben and Kevin.
    – I have virtue toolkit installed and activated.
    – I have a backup on duplicator plugin by LifeInTheGridwhich is a year old.
    – I believe the last version, when the site was live, was not older than 8-12 months.
    – The host is 1and1 which is US based and I’m from India. Their support was usually so so. I do not think they would be much help but I can try.

    the website is https://www.touchonelife.org
I have currently put it under construction using a plugin called Under Construction by Web factory Ltd

So anyway, I tried to load the old update on wamp and then copy-paste the changes in the live website.
Pretty much everything seems to be fixed.

    One thing though…
    https://touchonelife.org/donate-now/
this page had a background which I can’t seem to fix even after setting featured image. something I’m doing wrong?

Adding a featured image won’t set a background. Was it a background for all the content? You would need to use css for that. Let me know and I can help provide that.
