I’m just finishing off developing a store and have upgraded to the latest WordPress 4.7, all the plugins to latest versions, and WooCommerce from 2.5.2 to 2.6.9

I’ve been using a third party plugin from CodeCayon for table rate shipping. I notice table rate shipping now seems to be included with the latest version of the WooCommerce plugin.

Although I haven’t set up any shipping Zones in 2.6.9, my third party plugin for table rate shipping is still working fine and is passing the correct shipping charges to the checkout page for the various test orders.

Is it ok for me to ignore the setting up of shipping zones in the latest 2.6.9 plugin and just let my third party plugin carry on generating the shipping charges? At the moment nothing seems to be broken!

    Hope someone can advise.

    Myles

Yep, you should be fine – Not all shipping methods support the new Shipping Zones in WC 2.6+. This means that it’ll revert back to the “old-school” way of doing things where shipping methods are applied site-wide, instead of zone-wide.

That said, I’d recommend checking in with the developer of that plugin for more support on this ??

Thanks for the advice Riaan. ??

My shipping method is just based on weight and location. I have four zones created in my CodeCanyon plugin – UK – Europe – USA & Canada – Rest of World.

It looks like I can now do this in the latest WooCommerce plugin without needing my CodeCanyon plugin? However, I’m a bit reluctant to implement any changes in this respect as everything is working nicely.

I’ve checked the vendor page for my plugin which confirms compatibility with WC 2.6.x – so it looks like everything is fine in that regard. ??
