Tweets automatically displaying

  • I recently upgraded to 4.7 and ever since, if I put a link to my twitter account in the body of a post, it automatically starts displaying tweets.

    I would like to turn this off. I don’t have any Tweet or Twitter plugins installed, in fact, my installation is pretty bare bones. This is something that has just started happening to my sites with 4.7.

    The tweets show due to oEmbed discovery. Discovery occurs when whitelisted links are on a line by themselves. I believe Twitter was recently added to the whitelist. To prevent discovery, post your links so that they are not by themselves. Just placing   in front should do it.
