Select posts to show messages not working

  • Please help. When I use the Select posts that are to show messages and un-check posts I don’t want it to show on and click the Save all settings everything is OK. But when I refresh the settings page all of those posts are re-checked again. On the posts that I un-checked they don’t show the information from the plugin but also after refreshing the post page and go back to the dpaBottomofPostPage settings page all the posts again are checked.
    BTW the Select pages that are to show messages still has the un-checked pages and those selections stay un-checked. Can anybody offer any ideas as to how to keep the posts I don’t want the information to be shown on un-checked? Thanks

    Hi wisdomwizard,

    I checked selection and unselection of posts and pages on my website https://bachutha.com and refreshed the dpabottomofpostpage menu page and they stayed checked or unchecked after I changed the settings. If that was you problem.

    Alternatively if you website did not show the changes in the settings, my only suspicion as to why refreshing the page on your site did not show the changes is that you may have a cache that is not updated. Please clear the cache and then new settings should show on your website.

On the specified post that I didn’t want it to show on, the first time I load the posts pages that I un-checked they don’t show the information from the plugin which is what it was supposed to do. But also after refreshing the post page and go back to the dpaBottomofPostPage settings page all the posts I had unchecked show up as checked again and the post page then shows the information from the plugin. This has nothing to do with browser cache issues. There is some kind of conflict signalling your plugin to rechecked the ALL the posts. But NOT the pages as they saty unchecked.
    Again, the Select pages that are to show messages still has the un-checked pages and those selections stay un-checked. It is only the POSTS that are being affected. I need to remedy this because your plugin is showing an ad that shouldn’t be shown on these posts that I am unchecking. Thanks

    “But when I refresh the your plugin settings page all of those posts are re-checked again.” Interesting as when I tested for this on my site it was OK. There might be two possibilities I can think of at the moment.

    If you have a cache please deactivate it and do the tests.

    1. Change you theme to one of the twentyten to twentyseventeen themes and check if you have the same problem. If it does not occur then it could be theme related. What is the theme you are using. I could test it out on my experimental site to see if I get the same problem.

    2. Deactivate all your plugins and check if you have the same problem if not then enable the plugins one by one and see if the problem comes back.

    The settings are saved in a file and if you refresh the page it will load up the settings that were saved earlier. Unless your server has disabled writing to that file or directory or blocked access to the file. Please do check the permission for the sub-directory on your server at …/wp-content/upload/. They should be 755 and all the files in the sub directory …/wp-content/uploads/dpabottomofpostpage/ should have permission 644
