Missing Author| Missing Update in Google Webmaster Tools

Hi

I am getting multiple Missing Author and Missing Update errors on my Pages from Googles Webmaster tools.

Some support topics indicate a change is needed in the single.php file of the theme (which can be placed in my Child Theme section), but I am not au fait with php.

Can you assist on how to resolve this issue?
(I am using the freestore theme)
