• I have just moved the hosting of my website and am struggling to get the Contact Form 7 working again properly (I am a non-technical person) The form was working briefly at one point after the move, but I fear we have since made further changes to the set up that now result in an error message upon Submission. The error says “Sorry, there was an error. Please be sure JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your browser and try again.” It shows this message whichever device I’m using so don’t think it’s the actual device. I have spoken with the hosting site of the website and they have checked the e-mail settings and they tell me everything is correct at their end. They inserted a sample contact form of their own into the website to test if the email would go through and it did. So, they tell me that the fault must lie within the contact form itself. I wonder if anyone has any suggestions please ? The contact form tab is populated as :

<h3>(Please review the Pricing Guideline first)</h3>

<p>your full name (first name + surname required)<br/>
    [text* your-name] </p>

    <p>your email address (required)<br/>
    [email* your-email] </p>

    <p>your full postcode (required)<br/>
    [text* your-postcode] </p>

    <p>your landline telephone number (required)<br/>

    [text* your-landline] </p>

    <p>your message<br/>
    [textarea your-message] </p>

    [captchac captcha-985]
    Please type in the code
    [captchar captcha-985]

    <p>[submit “Send”]</p>

    <p style=”visibility:hidden;”>[file upload]</p>

The Mail tab is populated as :

To : (this field is populated with my email address)
From : (this field is populated with my email address)

My email address is a gmail email, with my website’s domain ([email protected]). My website host tell me the email is ‘remote’. Sorry if this is obvious to everyone, but just including in case it’s relevant. However, saying that nothing really should have changed in terms of the email, except moving the records.

There is nothing added in the Additional Settings tab.

Any suggestions would be welcomed ! Many thanks

After hours of trying to determine what is wrong I have now got the form to send successfully. the Sent message appears, and the e-mail comes through fine.

The only problem remaining is that when I then press Reply to answer the email, it looks like it’s being sent back to myself (although the email doesn’t arrive).

The populated fields in the mail tab are still as above – ie.

To : (this field is populated with my email address)
From : (this field is populated with my email address)

Is this correct – or should the “To” field be populated with something else ?

    Thanks
