Translation is quircky?

Using the latest version of Events Manager. Translation in the login form on an single-event page is not working. The correct phrases are present in both the .po files (plugins/events-manager….langs and languages). Most other things in this plug-in and others are working just fine.
Am I overlooking a setting somewhere?

It is on the event-view, when a user is not logged in.
The surrounding text is dutch, the login is english.
