I’m setting up a shop in Genesis and running into a weird problem. My main shop page has 4 columns, but when I click a category on that page which has three products in it, the three products show up as one column on the left. I have the “Woocommerce Products Per Page” plugin installed, set to four columns. Changing the number of columns in the plug-in changes the main shop page, so there’s nothing wrong with the plug-in. Changing the plug-in does not change the number of columns on a display of products. It always stays one column and at the left.

This is in the Genesis Framework. I have also installed the “Genesis Connect for WooCommerce” plug-in.

Why would my main shop page with categories be fine, while products are not?

The layout of columns isn’t something that forms part of the core WooCommerce plugin; I’d suggest reaching out to the developers of Genesis or Products Per Page directly for more support on this.

    Hi Riaan,

I turned off the “Products Per Page Plugin” and the result is the same, so it would be either in the Genesis Sample theme or WooCommerce. I haven’t done any modifications to the Woo templates except to move the category and counts above the pictures on the Shop page. The only modification to the Genesis Sample theme would be changing the width of the content divs.

Also, I tried using the Genesis Sample theme. This is happening with a generic theme setup and using the Genesis Connect for WooCommerce plugin.

Okay, I figured out what was wrong. I had the Genesis Grid Loop installed and the Teaser Columns was set to “1”. That forced my product listings into 1 column. By turning off the Grid Loop, my columns became four in the product listings.

So this is one of those “don’t do what I did” issues. My mistake can help someone.
