Hi, in the “Blocked IPs list” I used to always be able to click on the IP number of the blocked IP and see a list of all recent hits. Now after a short time I just get a result like below (IP numbers obfuscated by me).

Wordfence: All recent hits for IP address ***.114.***.254[254.ip-***-114-***.eu
    -nothing here-

I used this option to evaluate how my “Immediately block IPs that access URL” settings are working, as I was able to view which URL triggered the block.

It appears that there is some kind of setting in Wordfence that is clearing the “recent hits” listing after a short time. Is this setting available to the user, or a default, or what?

    Frustrating.

    Thanks for any help. MTN

    Hi MTN,
The data loaded in “All recent hits for IP address” report will be loaded from wp_wfHits table and limited with the “Amount of Live Traffic data to store” option.

So, can you confirm that your website received requests from this specific IP address recently enough to be captured in “Live Traffic”/wp_wfHits according to your settings for “The amount of Live Traffic data to store”?

    Thanks.

Ok, that makes total sense, thanks! I have “Amount of Live Traffic data to store” set to 500 rows.

So, clearly, the data I need is being cycled out before I can look at it.

I had no idea that the “All recent hits” info was stored in that same table as all the live traffic.

I do have a lot of traffic, so clearly 500 rows is not enough. How many rows do you think is reasonable in terms of database and server performance?

I need to be able to see those hits, to verify that my customized blocking is working.

    Thanks, MTN

The default value is “2000”, I suggest trying the default value first, then you can customize the value (higher/lower) as per your need, this shouldn’t cause a significant performance degradation.

    Thanks.

Ok, thanks, I’ll try some different values. Always trying to eek a tiny bit of extra bandwidth from my hosting plan by setting plugins to use less… as I’m on the verge of a pretty big jump in monthly hosting cost. In the trenches here, real world. MTN
