WordPress updated and ate my theme

I created a WordPress site for a client 3 or 4 years ago and never had an issue and have not seen the client in about that same amount of time. I got a frantic call today because they thought they got hacked. After hours of looking into the issue, I found that my custom theme that I called Longevity has been replaced with the new theme by the same name. My host says there is nothing they can do.
