Unsupported Theme

I have just installed WordPress for the first time on my current domain. I looked through the Themes and chose one called NatureSpace. Spent two days inside the editor making the changes I wanted and got stuck on something. So I went to contact the person who designed the theme and they are gone with the wind. All you can do on the support link is download the Pro versions of the themes for free in one large zip file.
Needless to say, I was annoyed. Is there any mechanism in place where the developers have to
report when their theme is unsupported? So the garbage can be made unavailable and take off the Themes List?Yes, I have found a replacement and yes, I checked the support issue before activating it.
It also has a Pro Version which I may someday buy.

Unfortunately that situation is more common than you can imagine, especially for developers who also offer a premium version. There are developers, though, who do actively support their free themes in hopes that you will be enticed to upgrade. There is no mechanism that I know of that tracks themes that aren’t currently supported by their developer (and I don’t think there’s a requirement from WordPress that theme authors offer any kind of support), so one thing that you might want to do when evaluating a theme is to check out the theme’s support page to see how active the developer is if you think you will be needing help.
One alarming thing I noticed right away in your post is that you’ve been making changes using the editor. You should know that making changes to the theme files through Appearance → Editor is highly discouraged. If the theme gets updated because of feature enhancements, bug fixes, or security patches, or if the theme has to be updated because of a change to the WordPress core, then your changes will be lost. The recommended procedure for making changes (that can’t be accomplished through the Customizer) is to create a child theme, or use a Custom CSS plugin if the only changes that you are making are with the CSS.
I changed to a different theme and it has a Custom CSS box, the only problem is, it seems like they used Non-standard names for some of the theme parts. I found site-title easily enough but for the life of me I can’t pin down the title for each post. All I want to do is change some fonts and colors and this theme doesn’t allow that unless you use their Pro version for $49 bucks. Don’t want to spend that money yet. I’m not even sure I am keeping the Theme or the Blog.
