wp_head is adding a meta tag I don’t want!!

  • HELP!

    What the crap is this! I pop in wp_head into my custom template, and it outputs this:

    `<meta name=’robots’ content=’noindex,nofollow’ />
    <link rel=”EditURI” type=”application/rsd+xml” title=”RSD” href=”https://passtheleed.com/xmlrpc.php?rsd&#8221; />
    <link rel=”wlwmanifest” type=”application/wlwmanifest+xml” href=”https://passtheleed.com/wp-includes/wlwmanifest.xml&#8221; />
    <meta name=”generator” content=”WordPress 2.6″ />`

    I bolded the part that sucks, that I hate, that I am trying to get rid of. Please help! I guess I could go hack up wp_head, but why on earth is it doing this. It’s a client’s site that is hosted on GoDaddy, not that that should matter, but GoDaddy blows as a host so, I don’t know, I think I just wanted to say that.

    OK, I figured it out.

    IT WAS GODADDY BEING A BASTARD.

    I usually use the all mighty dream host, who asks a few questions before installing WP on my server, one is which “Do you want your blog to show up in search engines and whatever else”. I always choose yes.

    But GoDaddy does not ask this on the install – it just automatically blocks search engines like a big retard. SO, to fix this, just go into settings > Privacy and click “I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers”

    OK, hope that helps some one. For the record, I don’t advise any one to use GoDaddy for hosting. In case I hadn’t made it obvious that they suck. Don’t even get me started on their .htaccess crap….
