Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_cache_get() in /home/****/public_

I was having an issue with a ThinkUpTheme website – I could not get it to add rows to the template.
So i started disabling plugins. Then i found Total cache had an update and thought maybe the update would fix the problem – it didn’t, so i disabled total cache.

Then nothing would load and i got this error Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_cache_get() in /home/*****/public_html/wp-includes/option.php on line 1117

I went into my cpanel and // out that line in option.php
Then tried to load the site and WP-admin again, got the same error with line 61, each line i block brings another one up as the error.

How do i solve the problem?
