Changed WordPress Folder Title and Now I Have a 404

    I’m using MAMP and changed my directory folder from, “wordpress”, to a custom name and now when I go to my website, I get a 404 from the theme I’m using in my WordPress installation so my site can still be visited but it’s no longer at the normal Home Page.

  • You can not change the folder name after the site is installed. All of the links and urls point to that folder name.

    You can use a utility like “FindReplaceDB2.php” to change all of the database entries to update the URL.

    Or just change it back to wordpress
