• Hi.
I have a custom registration form for “cleaners”. It is set to sync the community role “cleaner” the WP “cleaner” role. My default role in the general setting is “customer”.
When i create a user from that form, the community role is correctly set to “cleaner” but the WP role is set to “customer”. When I change the “Default New User Role” setting in Ultimate Member to cleaner it solves the problem. But I can’t do that for other reasons.
I just spent hours and hours trying to understand what’s happening.
    Could someone please help?
    Thanks in advance.

  • UM is doing exactly what you told him to. If your default is “customer”, and if there is no choice for user role in your registration form, then that’s why you get that user role for all the new users.

So the syncing parameter does not work for the registration process? If i set the UM community role “cleaner” to sync with the WP role “cleaner”, that does not play a part in the registration?

The registration process allows a user to be assigned a user role by default, but a user role can also be assigned to every registration form (you’ll need to select user roles to each form).

In addition, you can also allow the user to select his/her own user role in a registration page. The Syncing parameter has nothing to do with user role assignment as it only synchronizes permission settings from one user role to another (e.g. if you want “cleaner” to have administrative permissions, you sync it with admin user role).

    I hope this helps,
