Creating product feed – time out

  • Hello,

    just doing what described here: https://www.pixelyoursite.com/product-catalog-help
    After clicking “Generate the feed” button, after some minutes I got a message:
    “500 – Internal Server Error
    Common reasons for this error are:
    Incorrect file/directory permissions: Above 755.
    In order files to be processed by the webserver, their permissions have to be equal or below 755. You can update file permissions with a FTP client or through cPanel’s File Manager.
    Incorrect Apache directives inside .htaccess file.
    etc.”

    I think it is not a permission issue but a time out.

    I have about 1300 variable products in my shop.

    Any help and especially a solution is appreciated.

    Hi,

    The plugin is optimize to work with a big number of products, however, it looks like your server still can’t handle the feed.

    1300 variable products can mean anything.. if you have 10 variations/product you’ll end up with 13 000 /feed

    I suggest you split the feed in a few smaller ones, by category or tags. Removing variations is also an option.

    We will also look on how to optimize this part better on our side.

    Hi,

    Just to inform you about the volume I have
    6082 variations of the 1300+ variable products.

    Also,
    I disabled usage of variations descriptions, but the other modifications you suggested are available only in Pro version.
    With disabling that, error still appears.
