change image path to domain from ip development

    Okay I’ve had it. I’m fed up and furious. Maybe before this last year I was LUCKY enough to not encounter themes and plugins with this issue.
    But when a development site formerly on an IP goes live I find numerous themes and widgets (including Site Origin Site Builder widgets) where ALL the image paths refuse to change from IP to domain name.

    Anything in posts tables easily changes with a find and replace. Try that with ANYTHING in the options (and themes and widgets are both using this) and it breaks the widget. It goes POOF and reverts to default. There seems no way short of manually recreating everything to make them switch the path address.

    This is infuriating on a development level. HOW do you switch these things without breaking them? And if you can’t is there some master list out there to warn people? Because I will gladly stop using any and all widgets, plugins and themes that refuse to let me use an IP for development and then switch it.
