post writing over previous post

  • I made it so that the drafts don’t get counted as posts, so my post ids are in sequence. Today, I added a post that should have been post #496, but it was given #461. I assume that I had a post #461, which means that it is now gone. Can someone tell me what happened here?

    I added another test post, and it was given #496. I guess that means that it’s back to normal, but I sure would like to understand what happened.
