How to strip VC tags

This is indeed a known issue which also happens with some other themes or plugins.

It will be released as part of 1.5.0

In the meantime, you could just add:

if ( class_exists( 'WPBMap' ) && method_exists( 'WPBMap', 'addAllMappedShortcodes' ) ) {
    WPBMap::addAllMappedShortcodes();
}

inside of your functions.php file of your theme.
