    After upgrading the plugin from version 2.6 to 3.0.3 I can no longer use the ‘clone’ action because doing so will lead to 50+ instances (drafts) instead of just one. After a while the process stops due to too many connections/loops. This is very inconvenient. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

    Hi,
    I need more info about that, it’s the first time it’s been reported.

    What post type are you trying to copy: Post, Page, or a custom post created by a plugin/theme?
    What options are enabled in “Settings”->”Duplicate post”, first tab? Are “Children” or “Attachments” enabled?

    The post-type does not seem to matter. Cloning pages, posts and custom posts all give the same problem. Furthermore, Children or Attachments are not enabled. I deactivated the plugin and restored the older 2.6 which works fine.

    I’m sorry about that… the thing is, the code that does the actual cloning hasn’t change very much, so I can’t see what’s going wrong…
    Can you tell me which theme are you using and which plugins?

    For what it’s worth I was seeing the same error today. After I hit “Clone” on a simple post, there would be a long delay, followed by a “too many redirects” error. Upon going back into the “All Posts” section, I found 25 copies of the post I attempted to clone. I have simply disabled the plugin for now and am hoping to learn more via this thread. Thanks….

    I can’t reproduce the bug, but I have an hypothesis to test.
    If I send you a version 3.0.3 patched with some additional code which I think might solve the issue, would you have the chance to test it?
    I know that if it doesn’t work it would create a lot of copies and you’d have to delete them by hand, but it would be very helpful…

    Just a thought. Could the issue be related to the PHP version or other PHP extensions? I’m using 7.0

    Hi,
    it shouldn’t, I use 7.0 in a couple of projects.
    I slowed down a bit because of some personal (happy) matters, just give some more days to assemble a test version, I’m pretty confident we can solve this!
