Hey. Great job with this plugin! I wanted to thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

I’m using plugin version 1.3.0. I’m able to connect with Algolia. I’ve created a custom index successfully. However, to get the instant search page working, it is asking to first index searchable_posts. The problem is that the indexing queue gets hung on idle when I try to add it. It just creates an empty searchable_posts_tmp index.

Any ideas what causes this? Am I missing something obvious? I’ve tried clearing cache and all that and am still just working on other possibilities.

    Thanks again.

    Hi @ablet,

Do you have anything logged on the logs page or in the php logs?

Please see help on logging here: https://community.algolia.com/wordpress/logs.html

I’m looking forward to dig into your issue,

@rayrutjes Thanks for getting back to me. I did go through php and plugin logs and started disabling extra plugins associated with a couple errors. In my case, it seemed to be some Woocommerce widgets that were causing this issue. Disabling some of them allowed the indexing to go ahead.

Hopefully everything goes well from here on out.

    Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me @ablet,

I’d be very interested to know which widgets caused the issues.

Also, could you tell if you had the Algolia logging feature turned on, on the Logs page? We just noticed that this could lead to some performances issues.

I just released 1.4.0 which should fix your issue. Please give it a try and re-open an issue if it didn’t work out as expected for you ??

Hey @rayrutjes, I think I did Have Algolia logging turned on and it may have been a Woo Wishlist conflist. It was the last deactivated plugin before proper indexing.

However, I’ve just installed 1.4.0 and it’s working well for me right now. Thanks for the update.

I’ve moved on to finding the cleanest way of adding instantsearch to a WP category page… If you have any direction.
