Uploaded files to “upload” but not showing up in Media Library

  • I uploaded a bunch of PDFs to my upload file, but they’re not showing up in the media library. I’m pretty sure I’m running on 2.5.1, but I don’t know. My site is hosted at SiteGround and they’re running the authoring through WP (I suspect).

    Ideas?

  • I don’t think they will show up there if you just FTP them. Remove them and upload them again using the add media buttons on the write post page.

    Thanks so much for your response. I believe the button you’re referring to though is only for embedded media, as opposed to media I might want opened in a seperate window by itself after clicking on a link.

    I’m beginning to suspect that part of the reason why it’s not showing up is the file structure of the site. I’ve done other sites where the structure was set up for me, and didn’t have this problem. If anyone out there might be able to give their ideas on this, or any other topic, I’m all ears.
