Error – Internal Server Error – when uploading cover photo

Does this only happen when uploading images on UM? Have you tried uploading anything using your admin panel?

Yes only while uploading a cover photo or avatar on the profile. The user can upload an image to post, and the post shows fine. Thanks ??
I can upload everything in the admin panel. I have changed the default avatar and cover photo too. No problem.

Internal Server Errors mean that the upload script is not communicating with the data base. This could be a misconfiguration. But since it’s only happening with UM, then it appears that something has been changed.

You should start by testing for another plugin conflict. De activate all plugins first leaving only UM active to see if the upload function works again.

If not, then you have a server side issue.

But try the former first and let us know if that solves the issue. If it does. You’re gonna have to activate one plug in at a time until you identify the culprit.

I have deactivated all plugins except UM – still getting the same error message. What do you suggest I try next? I would really like to keep UM and get some extensions. Thanks Boris.

Did you make sure your cache is clear? Did you switch themes to twenty sixteen to test your theme compatibility? Are you running the latest WordPress and UM versions?

If none of these work then you might have a mod security server rule hindering the upload function. I would then call your hosting provider to ask if they could take a look at it.
