Order email not being sent with error message

  • I’m running the latest version of WpPizza on the latest version of WordPress, and for the past week any orders submitted online are not going through. This error message is displayed when you try and submit an order from the front end of the site:

    There was an error receiving your order… Please try again.
    phpmailer: SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting
    | Array ( [type] => 2 [message] => stream_socket_client(): unable to connect to ssl://:25 (php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known) [file] => /home4/waavka0aamp4/public_html/wp-includes/class-smtp.php [line] => 283 )

  • Hello charliecollier,

    As a test, try to login to email with the username/passsword to confirm they are correct. For example, log into Webmail, etc.

    Check your SMTP settings for errors, or typos.This may be handled in a plugin, but it will depend how your site was setup.

    Also, check your server’s mail log for additional errors, or record of the connection.
