API key working with IP address referrer?

    Hello, I was wondering if anyone can confirm that the map will display with an IP based referrer restriction?

    We always develop sites on a server where the address looks like https://33.33.33.333/~accountname and now I always get an oops error, even when I have an API key entered in the plugin settings. I have tried with both no restrictions on the API access, and setting it to the IP address as the HTTP referrer or IP address in the API console.

    You can restrict the referrer to an IP address by logging into your Google Developer Console, going to ‘Credentials’ and editing your API key. Then click on ‘IP Addresses’ and enter the server address in there.
