• Hi,

I have changed some slugs of my categories to a more SEO-friendly name. When I let my sea/seo-guy do a seo-scan, he says that there are pages who aren’t optimized. Those are pages with the old slug and there are two pages with the following url https://mydomain.com/2016/05
Off course those pages doesn’t exist, I’ve only changed the slug.

Can anyone tell me how to remove those url’s?

    Regards,

    Erwin

  • Those URL’s you mentioned are non existing URL’s and they don’t appear anymore not unless
you specifically added them in the content of your page.

If you can tell us more about where exactly you are seeing those URL’s. Is it in the content of your page? If it’s in the content, you can simply edit that particular page in your wordpress editor and then replact the “hyperlink” of that text to the new existing slug URL of your site.

Hopefully this answer would help you with your issue.

    Hi Hammerwave,

Thank you for your answer! It set me to think. the links to 2016/03 and 2016/05 are linking to the blog-items of that month. But there isn’t and never have been a cat 2016. Is this a wordpress thing?

When I was working at this SEO-items, I have also integrated an SSl-certificate. With a symbolic link, the content of public_html is connected to private_html, could there goes something wrong? So that there is old stuf which isn’t changed? Feels strange, this should be in the database and I don’t suppose that there is a new database created.

When I search in the generated source of my site, I can’t find any of those links. So it isn’t in the content. I will ask my seo-guy if he can tell anymore about those links
