Looking for a theme that can replicate this site

    Its unlikely you will find a free theme that looks like explore.org.

    You could contact a theme developer to design one for you, or look at a premium theme that may fit your brief… I have pasted a link to video WordPress themes available at Theme Forest (NOT affiliate link).

    thanks! Yes I understand there won’t be a free theme. I’m expecting to buy one. How customize can the themes get? Would it be possible to recreate the site exactly?

    If you purchase a premium theme, the design limitations will be to colors, logos and perhaps the font.

    To replicate the site exactly would be a breach of design copyright, so you would need to make some changes. You would need to hire a web developer to design a custom theme that was ‘similar’ to the site you are trying to replicate.

    I work for the site. We’re considering moving to WordPress but we’re curious about the limitations. We’re not sure we will be able to recreate the site identically.

    We’re wondering if any other webcam-based sites use wordpress?

    Ah OK. What you can do is hire a developer to perform a straight HTML to WordPress conversion, as you will have access to the HTML, CSS and PHP files. That way, the design will remain the same, but you will enjoy the benefits of the WordPress admin functions.

    I am not sure whether there are any WordPress based webcam sites out there.

    Below is a link to a site that returns the WordPress theme used for any site you ask it to scan. You could use it to test any webcam sites that you know of.

    I think the main concern is that wordpress won’t allow for the customization and nuances we require as a cam site. For example, you’ll notice a live weather widget hovering over our webcams. Is that something we can reproduce in WP?

    I’m not sure whether WP could reproduce something like that, you would need to consult with a theme developer. I suspect something similar could be achieved, but it may not exactly resemble what you have now.
